JOHOR BARU: Umno Vice President Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin believes the time has come for the party to ensure political stability, administrative transparency and major changes for the Malaysian family.

Former Johor Mentri Besar said he agreed and welcomed the suggestion of Umno Datuk Seri President Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on a number of things the government needs to work on.

“Among these are the establishment of a royal commission to investigate the charge of political interference by former Attorney General Tommy Thomas in the attorney general’s office, the enactment of anti-shopping laws. , a legitimate and transparent political funding framework, the strengthening of the police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) institutions and the creation of a cleaner parliament.

“All these reforms are essential. It is not only good for the country, the society and the practice of democracy in our country, but it has more important meanings,” he said on Sunday (August 29th) in a communicated. .

Mohamed Khaled added that this would prove that Umno was a serious party in the practice of good governance and always open to improvement.

He said it would help restore Umno’s image and general perception, especially by revealing his abilities and focusing on improving Malaysia.

“All of these reforms may separate Umno from Perikatan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan, who were previously seen as only sowing sweet promises while failing to implement all of the improvements promised to the people,” he added.

Mohamed Khaled said the party believes and is confident that the country’s administration, under the leadership of a prime minister from Umno, will bring about the changes and benefits everyone has been hoping for.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob had presented his concept of a Malaysian family, calling on MPs on both sides of the political divide to work together to help the nation recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
