JOHOR BARU: Close cooperation between federal and state governments has led to Malaysia’s successful economic recovery, political stability and social prosperity, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Prime Minister added that the two parties have always worked together to channel the needs of the Keluarga Malaysia (Malaysian family) to ensure that no one is left behind and to further close the income gap and eradicate poverty.

Ismail Sabri said so in his speech before launching the Keluarga Malaysia Aspiration Tour which was held at Plaza Angsana here on Saturday, March 5.

He added that in an effort to help Keluarga Malaysia, the government has undertaken various initiatives, including through Tenang protection vouchers, Stage Bus System Transformation (SBST), in addition to providing affordable housing and wireless broadband. .

Ismail Sabri said the SBST or MyBas would benefit some 6.4 million passengers a year, with the government allocating RM150 million to provide the service in Johor.

He added that a total of 128 myBAS are currently being implemented in Johor as of March, involving 19 routes in five corridors, namely Kota Tinggi, Masai, Kulai, Gelang Patah and Pontian, with a service reach of 1. 052 kilometers.

Ismail Sabri also said that the government is offering a 50% or RM150 discount for the purchase of a Keluarga Malaysia (MyCRS) child safety seat, for B40 families.

“Recognizing the importance of digitalization in facilitating the daily affairs of the Malaysian family, several strategies and initiatives have been formulated and are being implemented in several ministries, such as the development of Clinic Appointment System (SJTK) in health clinics.

“The system aims to give Malaysians the flexibility to choose an appropriate appointment slot, without having to visit a health facility,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said the Keluarga Malaysia Aspiration Tour, which made Johor the top venue, managed to register a commercial match of RM5.26 million, surpassing the target of RM3 million.

He added that the three-day programme, which started on Thursday March 3, managed to register a total turnover of RM186,191 to local entrepreneurs.

Ismail Sabri hopes the tour will bring new added value, which will underpin all efforts to improve the government delivery system.

He also said the tour was important in raising awareness of the protest and implementing the government’s continued efforts to help ease the burden of the people by going to the ground across the country.

Ismail Sabri added that Ministries, through their respective agencies, have been asked to get involved, such as resolving pending issues at state level one month before the day of the scheduled tour.

“This tour is intended to make it easier for people in every state to get information directly from federal government agencies through the mobile counter services provided,” he said.
