It’s an accusation coming from both sides of the political aisle: Conservatives say “black money” controls White House policy on issues ranging from legal process to the environment.
Black money is a political contribution with no obligation to disclose who gave it and with no limit on the amount.
Democrats have long argued that conservative black money is the threat to the nation. But in the last two elections, Democratic black money has dominated.
Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz said, “Perhaps no problem has more hypocrisy than the debates over campaign finance reform and so-called ‘black money’. Because Democrats thunder against black money and yet Democrats dominate black money. “
Liberal black money groups spent three times as much as their rivals in the 2018 election and five to one in 2020.
About $ 1 billion in black money was spent on the 2020 federal election, mostly by Democrats, according to the site OpenSecrets.org from the Center for Responsive Politics.
He says two-thirds came from nonprofit political organizations and shell companies.
Joe Biden received five times as many of these contributions as Donald Trump.
Former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt with Americans for Public Confidence said, “Everything that’s going on in America right now, where the culture is being pushed with so many levers, there’s usually a bunch of black money on the other side.”
After the election, officials linked to black money groups accepted positions in the Biden administration, including White House lawyer Paige Herwig and press secretary Jen Psaki. They worked with a group called Demand justice, who paid a truck sign in Washington, DC demanding the resignation of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to make way for a Biden nomination. Demand Justice also wants to pack the court.

Biden Chief of Staff Ron Klain was a board member of the CAP Action Fund, which has been linked to black money, and White House climate adviser Gina McCarthy led the Natural Resources Defense Council, another black money group.
Laxalt thinks this makes Joe Biden a “puppet” of black money.
“These groups made an investment, they cared about the ‘x’ issues and they’re not just out there spinning. A lot of them have moved into the White House and they’re helping shape politics,” Laxalt said.
Democrats in the new Congress have vowed to end black money. Reviewers say they maybe will after using it.
