The 1st edition of the annual rankings, released June 2, is designed to provide the academic community with more visibility and exposure to the influential research contributions made by those at the forefront of law and political science. Professor Schmidt was ranked No. 116 in the world and No. 72 in the United States.

Vivien Schmidt is Professor of International Relations and Jean Monnet Professor of European Integration at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies and was the first Director of BU’s Center for the Study of Europe, housed at the Pardee School. Schmidt’s research focuses on European political economy, institutions, democracy and political theory, in particular the importance of ideas and discourse in political analysis.
