Applications are invited for nomination as Post-doctoral fellow in law and political economy in China at the Department of Law (Ref: 516513), commencing December 1, 2022 or as soon as practicable thereafter for a term of one year.

Applicants must possess a Ph.D. degree in law, economics, political science, public administration or any other field related to judicial policy or political economy. He/she must have in-depth knowledge and experience of issues relating to the legal and political system in China; strong communication and organizational skills; sensitivity and commitment to cultural awareness; and the ability to work with a high degree of independence. Strong preference will be given to the candidate who: (1) has demonstrated the ability to develop and pursue a coherent program of interdisciplinary legal research and scholarship; (2) has significant experience presenting research at national and international conferences; and (3) has shown exceptional potential to develop a body of high-quality publications in scholarly journals.

The appointee will work within one of the world’s leading research teams working on law, forensic behavior, development drawn from across the University as well as teams working on collaborative research projects around the world . He/She will be expected to develop and pursue a coherent program of interdisciplinary legal research and/or scholarship; research complex ideas, concepts or theories and apply appropriate methodologies; present research at national and international conferences; develop a body of high-quality publications in scholarly journals. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At the current rate, payroll tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
