Summary

Jeffrey A. Griffin is professor of political science at the University of Nevada, Reno. Its research and teaching program is based on and integrates international relations, comparative politics (focus on sub-Saharan Africa) and global health policy. It examines and explores the decision-making of political leadership and the impact of risk and perception in shaping public policy responses to global crises such as global health epidemics. In the spring of 2019, he was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Intelligent Systems at the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis. He has also been a consultant to the United Nations Commission on Global Security, Justice and Governance in several fora. His work has been published in The Oxford Handbook on Global Health Policy, the Encyclopedia of International Studies, and The Oxford Research Encyclopedia of International Studies. Her research was funded by the Russell J. and Dorothy S. Bilinski Foundation for Education as well as the Korea Association of the United Nations System Academic Council.
