Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that India is a country of political stability and political continuity with a commitment to democracy and diversity. In a special keynote address at the 3rd annual US-India Strategic Partnership Forum Leadership Summit, the Prime Minister pointed out that India has undertaken sweeping reforms to make business easier and reduce formidable bureaucracies.
“Despite our important local needs, we have not hesitated to assume our global responsibilities. We have supplied generic drugs to the world. We are also at the forefront of vaccine research. You have a government that believes in results and you envision a country with political stability and a commitment to political continuity in democracy and diversity, ”he said.
He said that for the challenges in India, “you have a government that believes in results” where ease of life is as important as ease of doing business. “You are looking at a young country with 65% of inhabitants under 35,” Prime Minister Modi said. The prime minister said India was becoming a major attraction for foreign investment, adding that “we received $ 20 billion in foreign investment in 2020”.
Speaking on the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Modi said it may have impacted several things, but not the aspirations and ambitions of 130 crore Indians. He added that India has expanded its COVID-19 facilities in record time, adding that the current situation demands a new human-centered mindset.
The prime minister also said India was among the first to advocate the face covering as a public health measure and to create a campaign on social distancing.
“The pandemic has had an impact on several things but it has not had an impact on the aspirations and ambitions of 1.3 billion Indians. In recent months, there have been far-reaching reforms. – these make business easier and lessen the formidable ones, ”Prime Minister Modi said.

Prime Minister Modi said his government has launched one of the largest support programs for the poor in the world following the COVID-19 outbreak in the form of the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojna, under which free food grains have been provided to over 80 million people.
