The Federal Deputy Minister said that Abang Johari had also thought of ideas to increase state revenue to fund the many development plans.

LAWAS (9 June): The huge victory of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the last state elections has created political stability in the state, enabling the state government to continue its development plan for the people.

Deputy Rural Development Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah said Prime Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has also thought of ideas to increase state revenue to fund the many development plans.

Political stability is vital, especially for us in Sarawak, to enable the government to pursue its development agenda,” he said during a Gawai Dayak program in Limbang on Monday.

Hasbi, who is also an MP for Limbang, also said the GPS government wanted to have more representation in parliament to strengthen Sarawak’s voice in the fight for their rights.

For the record, Sarawak has 18 GPS deputies out of 31.

“We want more elected GPS representatives in parliament so that we can fight effectively for Sarawak’s rights as enshrined in the 1963 Malaysia Agreement (MA63).

“I hope the people will give their undivided support to whoever is chosen as the GPS candidate for the Limbang (parliamentary) seat in the 15th general election (GE15),” he said.
