The Center for Political Economy at Columbia University aims to identify and advance the most promising developments in economics after 2008 and to promote a new political economy, distinctive for our time, with an institutional and interdisciplinary focus linking economics to law, political science, sociology, public health, engineering and data science, with philosophical underpinnings. The center will bring together initiatives and individual academic programs already underway, helping faculty to span disciplines and research areas while anchoring a series of inquiries into foundational topics. The center will also seed new research, scholarly publications and policy findings and foster educational materials that will feed into textbooks and courses. At the core of its work, the center will develop think tanks concerned with vital areas such as firm size and antitrust, labor and labour, money and finance, climate change and inequality. This grant provides general (program) support to the Center for Political Economy at Columbia University.

The Saltzman Institute’s Safeguarding Cyberspace Program, housed at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, conducts world-class research and promotes critical dialogue to counter negative trends in cyberspace, including investing in future leaders and understanding cyber risks to business security and national security. . This grant will allow the project to continue its research and events focused on enterprise and systemic cyber risk, cyber conflict, and cyber peace, and help develop the next generation of diverse leaders. A grant to Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) will support the Cybersecurity Recommendations Project focused on capturing the full history of cybersecurity recommendations to produce more research and analysis. targeted and impactful. This project is a partnership between SIPA and the Atlantic Council – SIPA will collect reports and recommendations and populate a database, and the Atlantic Council will provide an online site for the database and leverage its network to amplify the project and related research with the cyber policy community.
