Brussels [Belgium], October 4 (ANI / Sputnik): Almost a quarter of Belgians, or around 24 percent, are dissatisfied with parliamentary democracy as the current political system in the country and want it to change, according to the results of a new poll conducted by the Kantar institute for the Belgian broadcaster RTBF, published on Monday.
The poll showed that nearly one in four Belgians is unhappy with the current system and would like it to be replaced by a more efficient one. At the same time, more than half of those polled, or 56.7%, said parliamentary democracy was the best option among all the options available, although they generally considered it ineffective.
Only 19.3 percent of those polled said they were happy with the government in its current form.

About 37.4% of those polled said they would prefer power to be concentrated in the hands of a single leader. Of these, a majority were young people aged 25 to 34, workers and graduates of elementary to lower secondary education.
The study was conducted September 20-27 with 1,004 participants. The margin of error for the sample of this size was no more than 3.01%.
Belgium is a constitutional parliamentary monarchy with a strong local government. (ANI / Sputnik)
